SAHG Completes Tour Of India
November 9, 2008SAHG, the Norwegian heavy rockers who feature in their ranks members of GORGOROTH, MANNGARD and AUDREY HORNE, has issued the following update:
"We have just finished our tour of India, having played five shows across the country during the Great Indian Rock festival. The tour kicked off with a small club gig in Delhi on October 30, followed by open air shows in Mumbai, Dehli, Shillong, and the grand finale at Palace Grounds, Bangalore, in front of 6,000 screaming maniacs.
"The response from the Indian audience exceeded all our expectations, and the tour has made a great first step for SAHG in India and hopefully also other parts of Asia.
"Our gratitude goes out to all of you who came out and made SAHG's first visit to India such a memorable experience!"
Live recordings of SAHG's performance at Hamsadhvani Open Air Theater in New Dehli on November 1 can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
SAHG's sophomore album, "Sahg II", was released on March 18 via Regain Records.
While the band's 2006 debut, "Sahg I", established the band as a force to be reckoned with in doom metal, "Sahg II" proves the band's staying power. Taking inspiration from the forefathers of all things heavy — BLACK SABBATH — SAHG creates its own interpretation of retro, trippy, heavy music, based around memorable, ear-catching riffs.
The "Pyromancer" video, which was shot on January 26-27 with director Asle Birkeland (who has previously created clips for ENSLAVED and AUDREY HORNE),can be viewed below. According to the band, "the script is loaded with prophetic mystique and blazing sorcery, and [is] a vivid visualisation of the song's theme on supernatural spiritual powers."
